In 2021, I introduced the "Flat Sculptures" series while living in Maastricht, Netherlands. Captivated by architectural models, I embarked on this project during one of the too many lockdowns, crafting miniature models to produce dynamic effects through moiré patterns. The exploration focused on moiré behaviour, experimenting with stripes and layering a few centimetres apart. Viewer perspective changes trigger the artwork's movement—a familiar concept applied in various contexts. However, I saw untapped potential in combining moiré with Graffiti. These pieces, made from laser and hand-cut cardboard on canvas, finished with acrylic, mineral paint, and spray paint, showcase a fusion of Graffiti with diverse techniques taken from crafting, industrial production and digital environments.
As models often set the stage for larger works, I plan to scale up these creations in the near future.
