As a result of a long friendship, it was only a matter of time for a collaboration between Mainz (GER) based furniture design studio iuuno and Iman Skyone. As young design brand iuuno works on the cutting edge of digital conception and fully handcrafted high end furniture which are topics that I relate to (digital juxtaposed to analog) we decided to create a blend between the arts of crafting and the arts of… arts? We challenged ourselves to work on something that combines our strenghts while reducing them to their essential and also to create something sellable. The goal was to integrate moire which lead us to decide for a glass cabinet in order to get a versatile experience between functionality and aesthetics. Solid oak meets transparent color gradients with a enlighted mirrorback which appears to create an infinite space between the observer and the content of the cabinet. Depending on what is filled inside and the lighting situation the contrary yet gentle appearence of the furniture gives it not only a versatility in its apearence but also in its character.
